Help Camp survive to 2021
Camp Laurelwood is on the brink of closing down forever.
There's no easy way to say that, but it's true. For those of us that have a connection to Laurelwood -- the only co-ed Jewish summer camp in Connecticut -- it's absolutely devastating.
As we all know, Covid-19 forced Camp to cancel the 2020 season. Without our support, Covid-19 will bring the camp's 83-year history to a screeching halt. In order to reopen in 2021, Laurelwood needs to raise $700,000. To date, Camp has received commitments for $400,000. The remaining $300,000 is up to us- alumni, friends, family & other supporters of CL.
Jewish summer camp is a defining characteristic of the American Jewish experience. It teaches us about our culture, about our heritage and about friendship.
The five of us grew up at Laurelwood. We spent nearly a decade there together. Our parents went there. Our brothers and sisters went there. One of us met his wife there. And we're doing this because we want other Jewish kids to have the same experience we did. Please donate today to help us reach our goal.
